It is a heartwarming hopeful film.

Ito originally ang first choice ko na movie to watch on this year's Pista ng Pelikulang Pilipino. Hindi ko maipaliwanag pero simula nung makita ko yung teaser poster nag-abang na ako ( earlier this year).
I got the chance to attend a screening na may Q&A after the film. Shout out to Cinema '76 Anonas!

Mula simula hanggang matapos yung film, ang gaan lang. Tearjerker siya pero, it wont leave you with a heavy feeling. I love the fact that they've got Ben&Ben and their music sa buong pelikula.

Hindi madali na lagyan ng naratibo ang mga kanta ng Ben&Ben dahil ang bawat kanta nila ay may kuwento. But the LSS team nailed it! Ang galing ng pagkakagawa ng bawat eksena. Yung bawat putol at pasok ng eksena, lalo na sa "Ride Home" scene, halimaw yung editing! I love how they did the "Kathang-isip" scene, it was magical, totally unexpected. Feeling ko sasabog yung puso ko sa galak. Marami akong nagustuhang eksena sa buong pelikula isa na dito yung "Maybe The Night" scene, na muntik muntikan ng mawala grabe kinilabutan ako doon. Napakanta ako during the "Bibingka" scene, well, if you don't know the song siguro di ka mapapakanta. I like na hindi nag-drift sa love story angle yung pelikula.




The Actors.

I love the organic chemistry of Gabbi Garcia and Khalil Ramos, ang sarap nilang panoorin, napaka-natural. They were both on point, they may not be the best actors as compared sa actors ng ibang entry pero magaling sila. Tuesday Vargas, was outstanding on this film, from the light funny scenes to the breakdown scene awesome! She really deserved that award. At dahil magaling sila, ibig sabihin, the director did well in terms of motivating the actors and prepare them sa characters nila. On that note, congratulations! to direk Jade Castro. 

The movie may seem cliche but what sets this apart is the rawness of the scenes and its magic. Not to mention the songs of Ben&Ben.








Take Aways:

1. Abutin mo ang pangarap mo, wag kang susuko.
2. Maraming hindi maniniwala sayo, maging matapang ka.
3. Minsan, masarap makipag usap sa stranger cause you can pour your heart out.
4. Walang ibang nakakakita sa pangarap mo kung di ikaw lang.
5. Maingay ang mundo, wag mong hayaang mawala ang tinig mo.
6. Acceptance. Tanggapin mo lang lahat ng rejections, your time will come.
7. Tinder might help, just use it responsibly.
8. Forgiveness. Matuto kang magpatawad.
9. Love has its own timeline.
10. Dapat hydrated ka. Kaya take fluid as often as needed.

Kuwaresma

#KuwaresmaMovie a film by Erik Matti and released under Globe Studios and Reality Entertainment, which happens to be The Megastar, Sharon Cuneta’s first ever horror movie. The film talks about how dark our mind could be. Firstly, The story was set on the late 1980’s which is about the horror inside Fajardo’s Residence. We in INDIE Pelikula / Cine Silip, enjoyed the story-telling and how twisted it was. Technical aspects: The sound effects worked for us. We simply lose track on how many times we screamed.  Thus, we even tried to tuck ourselves in our seats because of the (terrifying and melancholic) sounds. I, personally, look around to check our surroundings again-that is how beautiful, effective, and terrifying the sounds were. As for its visuals, we agreed that it was outstanding! Before the year ends and before the MMFF 2019  begin here's our list of "Must Watch Filipino Movies in 2019" in no particular order. A. John Denver Trending Named as 2019 Cinemalaya Best Film.  A story of a boy who's a victim of a trending video on facebook about bullying. Condez' effectively shown the audience the impact of misjudgment and bullying. Soriano, who played the mother to the lead actor, Jansen Magpusao was very effective. The newcomer, Magpusao was named the Best Actor of the festival. B. Sila - Sila Sila-Sila, a simple film about our connection to the people around us. The movie doesn't have the usual big confrontational scene, yet you'll find yourself noding in almost every scene. Though the lead characters are gay, it still resonate across all genders and that is the magic of Sila-Sila.
