Kuwaresma

#KuwaresmaMovie a film by Erik Matti and released under Globe Studios and Reality Entertainment, which happens to be The Megastar, Sharon Cuneta’s first ever horror movie.

The film talks about how dark our mind could be. Firstly, The story was set on the late 1980’s which is about the horror inside Fajardo’s Residence. We in INDIE Pelikula / Cine Silip, enjoyed the story-telling and how twisted it was.

Technical aspects:
The sound effects worked for us. We simply lose track on how many times we screamed. Thus, we even tried to tuck ourselves in our seats because of the (terrifying and melancholic) sounds. I, personally, look around to check our surroundings again-that is how beautiful, effective, and terrifying the sounds were. As for its visuals, we agreed that it was outstanding! We’ve never seen such in our local horror films especially the creature from the film, which stuck on my head. We just have a little problem when it comes to its cinematography, there were scenes that we weren’t able to capture some details because of too much darkness. Well, we agreed that maybe that’s just how it is. If they’re trying to get your attention and to focus more on the detail with that kind of light and color? Well, they succeeded.

Performance aspects:
Though it is the Megastar’s first horror film, I must say, she was effective. Mr. John Arcilla was gold! He’s really  an outstanding actor! This is his best performance to date after Heneral Luna. Kent Gonzales also deliver, it made us want more of him.

The movie is trying to say something that is really frightening. #Kuwaresma will haunt you in your sleep.
We in INDIE Pelikula/ Cine Silip

highly recommend the movie! It’s definitely a must watch.
